In our English department, emphasis is placed on improving our diction and widening our vocabulary. Probing deeply into complicated grammati- cal constructions, Seniors sometimes find it difficult to understand the language they speak so fluently. In order that she may master this essential preparation for college, Charlene Smith is given special help by Miss Lewis. By studying past issues of Cumtux, journal- ism students attempt to find points which they may later improve or continue to use. Discussing various topics which they con- sider to be important, Dianne Rabalias, Sarah Averitt, Cade Morrow, and Judy Lee develop enthusiasm for journalism. 22
