Freshman English consists mainly of grammar and composition. As the student progresses, the studies become more complex American literature is placed in the curriculum of the Junior English classes, and English literature is studied in Senior English For the more interested students, classes in World literature and creative writing are offered. World literature consists of the study of writings ranging from Hellenic Greek through contemporar European to Asian literature. Creative writing students, as well as turning in samples of their work during the year, help to put together the liter- ary magazine at the end of the ear.
