The public is not aware of the prep- arations that go into the staging, be it in the arena or in the school. As the Matador is introduced into the Redoneo Cschool of bullfightingj as a Muchacho Cbeginnerb, so the student is introduced to Bolsa as a freshman. The Muchacho learns from his Apoderado fteachers-managersy as we, the students learn from our faculty. As the Muchacho progresses to the Novellero stage Capprentice bull- fi hterj, we advance to be sophomores, then on to the llllll Woung lliil hiuil.l.figh,f,erJ as we progress to be juniors. When a fighter reaches his zenith, he is an El Espadero 1Top Bullfighterjg we are seniors. lmlilli ,,,i5. The apoderado presents the novellero with the avios de matar qsword and muletaj, banderilla Charpon type sticky, capote Ccapej, traje de luces fsuitj, and the zapatillas Cshoesj, then trains him in their use. lt is then up to the Matador to use them wisely. Our teachers have presented us with the knowledge--now we are to dec de how we will use that knowledge. Because we are ,Matadors in name and because we have conquered the illl many challenges ofthis, our first yearg we the first annual staff of the El Espadero, have chosen the bull- fight as our theme.
