Being a member of the Band, he could be heard every Wednesday ser' enading Captain Snyder on the Band Hall. In advanced algebra class he often came forth with some revolutionary theo- ries on the manipulation of odd integers and degenerate determinants. He was quite active on the intramural program and sparkplugged the first platoon's team. loiibiwq, .au eww-pd MM MILES R. COWART JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA Entered '46, Assd. Co. C, Jr. Sgt., '47, P.F.C.7 I1 Corp., 2, Sgt., 3: Sgl. lfc, 47 Academic, Conduct, and Intramural Bars, Varsity Swimming Team, 2, 3, 4. Miles, a quiet and capable senior, was platoon sergeant of the third platoon of A Company, at which post he did a good iob. Always a good student, he could usually be counted upon to liven up the class with bright remarks. One of Miles' hobbies was swimming, and he made use of this ability on the varsity swimming squad. Band, Academic and Conduct Bars, Band Letter, Sgt. 3, MfSgt. 4, Alpha Society 3, 4, BJTM 3, Alpha Re- view 4, Bugle 4. Bob was one of the most dependable ot- licers among the day students this year. His prowess in the classroom mode him a high ranking scholar and he also found time in iournolism for both the Alpha Re- view and the Bugle. Bob was best known for his ability to handle the drums in the Band. Bill had a consuming interest in football and was a livewire on the l95I Bolles Squad in that there were few athletes at Bolles who could pass a football as well as he. This year he assisted Captain Ber- gen in coaching the midget football team, Coming from a Navy family, Bill is in- tensely interested in this work and may follow a Naval career. t' ,I 7' . .?f.,e il if 1. ' L F 'I' li ,wr X, x N. xl, JOSE CAMPOS SAN JUAN, PUERTO Rico Entered '51, Assd. Co. A Jose was the Bolles Prototype ot the latin Lover, Ricardo Montalban variety. We suspect that he was a representative ol the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce iudging from the dozens of scenes and maps of this place plastered on the walls of his roam. His unbelievable tales ot prowess with the ladies and his rapid- fire delivery of these tales and other stories earned for him the name of Ametralladora from his South American friends. R

A, Played Varsity Football, Varsity Basketball, N.E.C. All- Conference Basketball. Jack really made a name for himself here at Bolles this year. A starting player at almost every game in both the football and basketball teams, Denny proved a continual threat to the opposing teams. He, time and time again, showed himself to be one of the mast valuable athletes on the varsity teams. He was also quite a good cadet in the military activities of Company A. Not content just to get by, Jack strove beyond that and by so doing showed a personality that will carry him far in life. JOSEPH DAVID DOBSON ARCADIA, FLORIDA Entered '50, Assd. Band, transferred Co. A, P.F.C.7 3, Corp., 4, Sgt. 4, Academic and Conduct Bars, Exchange Ed., 4, Bugle, Orville Snyder Music Medal, 3: Member N.S.P.A., F.S.P.A., C.S.P.A., Quill and Scroll, Member Glee Club, 3, 4. David entered Bolles and immediately ioined the ranks of Captain Snyder's Band. Here he was one of the most effi- cient non-commissioned officers in the whole battalion. He often could be seen on the tennis courts playing his favorite sport. He worked quite,diligently on the school publications and should do well at Emory, where he plans ta study Medicine, so sew' 1 S INT' 400-' yt.. R o 'A woes?-'l his JOHN WESLEY DYAL cocoA, FLORIDA Entered '5l, Assd. Co, A, Academic and Conduct Bars, Member of Alpha Society, Member of Bugle Staff. John, a new boy this year, was one of the best liked cadets of the school. He could be seen almost every afternoon on the tennis courts where he was a member of the intramural team. John proved to be quite the intellect in the math courses here, and it is believed that most ot the seniors seeking scientific diplomas would have had considerable difficulty without him to give moral support. His room was always crowded iust before monthly tests and exams.
