ATTENDANTS -- Billy Mincks, Robert Hammons, Kent Zumwalt, Charles Ruyle, Howard Robertson, James Vermillion. FLOWER GIRLS -- Mashell Buffington, Jill Hutchison. CROWN BEARERS -- Randy Grady, Brad Zumwalt. The 24th annual Athletic Banquet was held in the high school cafeteria on March 28. This banquet is sponsored by the Royal Rooters each year in honor of the lettermen in the various sports. Sharon Shell, the Queen, and Robert Richner, the Prince Charming, were crowned in the beauti- fully decorated cafeteria while Malinda Buffington sang, Only a Rose . Yolanda Davis presented the roses to the Queen. William J. Wasson introduced the guest speaker Eddie Mattews, basketball coach at SMS. Janet Teters. the Toastmistress, introduced coaches Bob Brown and Charles McCallister. They presented the lettermen with their letters and Mae Bridges presented the cheerleaders with their letters. As always the Athletic Banquet was a lovely ceremony, which served as a fitting climax to a fine year of Athletic achievement;

King Robert Richner, an active senior athlete, was selected by the Royal Rooters to be Prince Charming of the Athletic Banquet. Robert has participated in many activities during the three years he has attended BHS. He has lettered in football and basketball three years, and played on the basketball team that made State Championship his junior year. Robert's friendly disposition and winning smile make the students of BHS proud of the Royal Rooters choice for Prince Charming. Queen Lovely Miss Sharon Shell was chosen by the B Club to reign as the 1961 Athletic Banquet Queen. During the past four years she has been active in music. Royal Rooters, FHA, and Drum Corps. She has served loyally all four years as a cheerleader. Because of Sharon's friendly personality and untiring enthusiasm, everyone is well pleased with the B Club's choice of a queen.
