Bn-1 Queen - Janice Mashburng Attendants - Phyllis Carson, Peggy Murphy, Jan Stewart, Glenda Parrish, Phyllis Bar- ker, Judy Callaway, Prince Charming - Jerry Diving Attendants - Jerry Carson, John Burkey, Eddie Brockert, Don Cunningham, Don Woods, Darrel Ryan, Flower Girls - Karen Saxton, Linda Bates, Crown Bearers - Kermit Hargis, Chris Parrott. Athletic Banquet The Royal Rooters, the pep club at Bolivar High School, presented the 22nd annual Athletic Banquet March 24 in honor of the lettermen for 1958-59. The cafeteria, elaborately decorated with thousands of shiny raindrops and a color- ful rainbow, was the scene of the crowning of queen Janice Mashburn, by Prince Charming jerry Divin. Sue Ann Hutcheson sang Only A Rose and Ro se Faye Kallen- bach presented the Queen with a bouquet of ro ses . For the highlight of the evening Principal Wm. J. Wasson introduced the guest speaker Wilbur Sparky Stalcup, head basketball coach at M.U. Coach Richards presented 9 boys with B.B. letters and 7 boys with re serve letters. Coach Stringer presented 25 football letters and 10 re serve football letters, 3 track letters and 3 golf letters. Miss Mae Bridges, pep club sponsor, presented 6 A team cheerleading letters and 5 B team letters. Everyone attending the banquet will long remember it as the perfect climax for our year of sports .

Don Woods, an outstanding senior athlete, was chosen to escort and crown this years Homecoming Queen. Don has attended B.H.S. three years and has let:- tered in football two years and track one year. He has been a member of B Club two years. Because of his athletic abili- ties and pleasing personality he was sel- ected by the Royal Rooters as one of the escorts for the Athletic Banquet ffwffff

Janice Mashburn was selected by the B Club as queen of the 1958-59 Athletic Ban- quet. She is a popular and vivacious sen- ior who has participated in many activities during the 2 112 years she has attended B. H.S. She has been active in F.H.A., Roy- al Rooters, the Talisman Staff, and the Senior Play. The student body has shown her to be its choice by electing her cheer- leader for the last two years. It feels, too, that Janice deserves this honor because of her enthusiastic interest and support of the Liberator s . 260166 9 Vf ll X gf 66660 Jerry Divin, senior letterman in foot- ball, was selected by the Royal Rooters to be Prince Charming of the Athletic Banquet. Jerry has been very popular during his high school years, and has been active in var- ious school organizations. His freshman year he was selected as class president. He has been active in F .F .A. for the past 4 years, and is serving as vice president this year. He is a member of B Club and the Talisman staff. jerry's friendly smile and pleasant disposition are his two most outstanding attributes.
