The Senior Class of Bolivar Central School Presents Editor - Nancy Miller Business Manager - Ellen Shaner Photography - Roland Studio Volume 28 Foreword WHAT IS A YEARBOOK? And what is a yearbook? Just as Bolivar Central is not just a red brick building, 929 students, 55 teachers, not just victorious athletic teams, talented musical groups, but is the essence, the vitality, the warmth, the intangible, living heart of all these-so a yearbook is like a magic mirror capturing, holding, and reflecting forever the vibrant force and personality which was our school year. A yearbook is people-and people are laughter, tears, cheers, taunts, dreams, cynicism which seeks solitude to cry, studies, goofing off. People-people growing up-but growing up hurts! And a yearbook is events-proms, music, dates, and lack of dates. Football games won and celebrated, football games lost with tired players walking silently for a last look at the dimming lights over the empty field, turning quickly away with unbidden tears. A yearbook is life-a yearbook lives-a year now gone-and the promise of all the years that are to come. 3 The Class of 1967 proudly dedicates this yearbook to Mrs. Dorothy Kroh. Through fond memories of our third grade Hawaiian play and your continual assistance in other dramatic performances as well as your advisory of the FT A you helped in simplifying our choice. A third grade teacher, which in itself takes much time and effort, you have always been willing to aid with other activities or to help with some high school class project. For being so unselfish and willing to give of yourself, and for aiding in our development into mature adulthood, we, the class of 1967, are happy to recognize you in this small way and to say, from the bottom of our hearts, ‘Thank you, Mrs. Kroh ’ 4 Dedication Mrs. Dorothy Kroh Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration Administration JOHN BRADLEY RICHARD POUNDS FRANCIS YEHL a . fc i MERTON DUNSHIE GEORGE BLISS President Board of Education EDWARD CAMPBELL Clerk Supervising Principal To the Seniors of 1967: Graduation from High School is an important milestone in your lives, and it is also a stepping stone to a future of worthwhile activities. Giving away lots of experience to the opposing teams, and injury ridden for most of the year, the Bulldogs came through with a respectable 3-4 record. Coaches Dunning and Dunsmore saw lots of prospects among the sophomores and juniors, and many were given needed experience in preparation for next year. We're sure Bolivar will be the team to beat in the next Border Conference game this fall. Marty Ford and Dean Gleason were designated Border League all-stars. Authorized Ford and Mercury Dealer Bolivar, New York Girls’ Intraniurals An exciting part of the school year for many of the girls is their participation in intramurals. This year the girls battle for the title of champs in basketball, volley ball, and badminton. The girls assert their athletic ability after school in the gym under the direction of Mrs. Crowley and in the presence of numerous snickering boys who seem to doubt whether females were cut out for such sports. A few brave young men even volunteer to referee the girls' games. On moving up day in May, the girls are awarded certificates for their participation.
