Mr. Dobbs was born in Levelland Texas and started his schooling at BacliffElemen tary. He came to Bennington, Oklahoma in the second grade and graduated from Bennington High in 1969. Mr. Dobbs attended Murray State Junior College for two years, and then transferred to Southeastern Oklahoma State University, wh ere he received his B.S. in Industrial Arts. He taught at Colbert schools for three years. He came to Bokchito in 1978, where he taught Industrial Arts for eight years. In 1984, he became High School Principal. Re tiring Tea ch ers f a l ' 1 W fiwsrvf as fir f 2 52 M 445 Mrs Norma Prentice has been the Business Teacher for the past 14 years also the Yearbook advisor for 12 years She came 1n 1.967 and taught 4th grade for years before stepping up in to High School to teach the Business Subjects She ta ughtoneyearin Jimma Ethiopia in 1958 59 I World Historyand English I Agriculture school of 200 Ethiopian boys Mrs Pren tice s most memorable experiences were when she taught in Ethiopia The boys were so eager to learn Mrs Prentice has a total of 31 years of teaching in both Elementary and High School Her future plans are to tra vel Mr Dale Cozbey who has been at Bokchito for 2.9 years He has been the 4 H leader for twenty hve of those years Mr Gozbey says that his Sczence classes Were important but 4 H Club has made his life Says he s really going to miss his relationships with the kids because he loves Working with kids. Mr. Cozbey plans to loaf a while then Work a little. Mr. Cozbey has a total of 33 years and We appreciate his time and his helpfulness to everyone. Mrs. Martha Lou Easter has been teaching for 22 years 19 years at Bokchito 1 year at Waurika 1 year at Denison and one and one-half years at Impson. Mrs. Easter s comments about her teaching career were Out of all the grades, she feels that First Grade is most important of all because First Grade is Where the children learn to read and Write. ,'She too, feels that Kindergarten is important because it helps the kids get use to leaving their parents. Mrs. Easter taught Third Grade five years and replied, that is like being on vacation in comparison to teaching First Grade. She finished the 8th grade in Bokchito schools and then attended the Okla. Presbyterian College after which she attended in Duran t. The Hrst schools in which she taught were Beams, Caddo, and Haleyville, Okla. She married Stanley Williams, Caddo, Okla. in 1920. Their children were Stanley fdeceasedjg David, and Belton. In 1927-28, Mrs. Williams assumed her teaching career as Principal of Dodson School, Bokchito, and then in 1929-30, she was employed to teach High School English and Music in Bokchito High School. While Dr. Parrish Was Superintendent of Bokchito Schools, he Was elected County Supt. of Bryan Co. Schools. He invited Mrs. Williams to be his assistant. He took office in 1937 and then was elected State Representative to the Legislature, leaving in 3 IX2 years. Mrs. Williams was appointed to serve the remaining six months as Supt. of Bryan County Schools. In 1940, Mrs. Williams returned to Bokchito to her former position for several years. Making a total of about 28 years teaching in Bokch to High School. She said that all these years are so full of beautiful memories of all the pupils, parents, and friends, that it has been a wonderful privilege to serve in this county. In 1957, she realized that she had only 4 more years before reaching retirement age and Bokchito did not ha ve Social Security Coverage and in order to qualify, she accepted a position in the Broken Bow High School English Department. She has served about 40 years in Okla.
