AUTOMOTIVE MAINTENANCE ! 1 X I' 2' The widespread use of automobiles and trucks has resulted in the development of the automotive maintenance industry, It is the job of the auto mechanic to repair. adjust, and replace damaged parts on cars and trucks and to keep the cars in good running order so that they may bg operated safely -sf- s 'I I li .., Da- J wifi s' 'Q' 49 and economically. The purpose of the automotive maintenance course is to train allfaround mechanics who can make rapairs or adjustments to any part of an auto' mobile. The student is given a thorough foundation training in the general principles, construction, and servicing of automobiles. His training includes lubrif cation, front end and steering alignment, brake service, engine, clutch and transmission maintenance, electrical diagnosis and correction, body and fender straightening, and body refinishing. HOME ECONOMICS The Home Economics course trains girls to become etlicient home workers and also prepares them for wage earning in positions related to the field. In order to become a nurse, a dietitian, a Home Economics Consultant with a large company or a Home Economics teacher, graduation from a college or special training school is necessary. Girls who desire further education after graduation from the I-Iome Economics course can complete all necessary units for entrance to a higher school. DRESSMAKING Dressmaking at the Bok 'Vocational Technical Sch-I l is one of the most popular trades with the girls.
