HARWOOD By Kay Tracy, Senior '58 Though far from us today she wanders In memory here she lingers yet. Her quiet, gentle, loving presence Is one our heart cannot forget. We remember yet her friendship warm, Her soothing voice, her gentle ways-- And our memory quicxly taxes us To our glorious first-grade days. Each morning she was there to greet us, To listen to our childish schemes. Each day she helped us in our lessons And taught us to pursue our dreams. She cheered us on when we were sad She helped us when we stumbled. She listened to our cares each day And soothed us when we grumbled. when ways are hard and studies dreary In memory return and reach her. Think back and gain assurance from Mrs. Harwood--our first-grade teacher. 41, T , , ,f ,FD in ff' 'amy wr ja'1ggr.,gz:N ' 1 six x Q W' W .L Y , s 1 up ..1, if :' 'T 13' DICATION ,gwwyf-':fw M 4,4 f ' - Af-VJL -:WA , L..-., ,VC 5, I . .., .,-1 favs: u 1--uit gy? aww,-V5 1 ' f J x 1 .. Carol Terry, who was once a promising science stu- dents at B. H. S. gave up her pursuit of neutronsin order to bring happiness to others through her music. The first delight one experiences on Planet Pluto, pro- viding one has atoms enough fthese being t h e monetary units of the futurel is listening to Miss Terry play at the Universe Club. She is the star of the nightly show, and simply thrills the Plutonions with her charmmg 2n,nLove Letters renditions of such hits as, nSpaceway 20 in the Starsn, and nConstellation Rock.n Richard Forth realized his dream of Pilot, in fact he had the honor of being to attempt a flight to Jnpiter. He made cannot yet be considered a success. You becoming a Jet the firstperson it, but dm trip see, someonefun got to invent a way to get back. Mr. Forth is, there- fore, stranded on Jupiter until some other daring persn rescues him. Dale Fiedler is working in frenzied unpatience try- ing to devise a plan which can bring back passengms from Jupiter. He has the finest laboratory o nk Uranus and is certainly working hard to deserve it. T h 1 s gentleman who was once the despair of his chemistry clam is now inventing super-nuclear gasses and hot-rod race planes. And who is the champion hot-rod racer? You guessed it, Dick Roundtree. Once known by cops as a terrifying driver, he now drives babies that would leave the earth- bound patrolmen in a cloud of stardust, if only they were hereto chase him. Judy Smarz has realized her ambition of becoming a dancer. Does she trouble herself with such infintesimal places as New York and Hollywood? I should say not! She is a featured dancer at the nStardustn, Mercury's most famous night club. Shirley Mueller is still making jokes and making friends. In fact, that is her job. The president of Earth recently appointed her good-will ambassidor to Saturn. There she will be wined and dined by the top brass. Dian Henry is now secretary for t h e Overspa.ce Investment Company. It is her duty to accompany busy excutives of that company on their tripsof interplaneumy trips. She is currently on a trip to the Milky Way. Mr. Marum, our davisor, is now teaching Lterphmu ary Law to businessmen at Spacial University. enior C6454 likiifory In 195k we entered high school with eight members, three boys and five girls. They should, especially if you're a member of the Class of '58. These are punch lines from the Senior Play produced by the Class of '58 with the help of some members of the Class of '59 and under the direction of Mrs. William Davis. For fourhilarious weeks Cin the eyes of those who did not partici- patel, dreary weeks Kin the eyes of these who had parts to learnj, nerve-wracking weeks fin the eyes of the much-enduring directorl, the cast practiced the play, supposedly in all their spare time, in actu- allity, only while within seeing distance of the director. Practices, for the most part proved to be fun for all concerned. Always when things got dull someone did or said something funny,anit11e practice turned into a gab session. For all the joking anihamming, the lines were learned and the scenery and properties were correctly placed on the stage. Came the big night and everyone had a bad case of butterflies.T11e curtain rose, the butteries miraculously disappeared, and all w e nt fairly well. 'Great Caesaris Ghostn was the name of the play and, as itimplies, there is a ghost involved. The story is a romance, the plotcn?which is the marriage of Helen Cportrayed by Dian Henryj, and Tommy Cacted by Richard Forthl. Helen's mother, Penelope fCarol Terryl, is opposed to the marriage. She thinks that in order to be someone, one must be affiliated with Majahs, ect. She, and her friend, Phobe lJudy Smarzl , are always going to see the Great MajahlDan Allebaughb. Phoebe keeps her daughter, Deborah fRomonia Disneyl, dressed as a twelve-year-old, when actually, she is sixteen. Deborah has had no dates until the day Helen, in an attempt to get her out of the way, sends her to the show with a neighbor boy, Dick fDick Roundtreel. Things are in a pretty bad fix, what with the Majah, the forbidden romance, and the out-landish dresses when Aunt Polly CKay Tracy! stops for a short visit before going to China. She agrees to help the young people straighten out their troubles. Before she has a chance to start, Uncle Phineas KJim Kondrackij, and old beau of hers arrives from Soumh America with his traveling companion, Great Caesar's Ghost. The ghost immediately gets intg, trouble by scaring Johnson fDale Fiedleri, the butler. Johnson has other troubles, too, as Esther, the maid iShirley Mueller! is determined to carry on a romance with him. Actior1and.humor are supplied by Dick and Hannah, the cook Klaura Lee Damitzl as Dick is always stealing cake. Uncle Phineas and Aunt Polly cook up a solution to all of the problems and, with the help of the Ghost, they convince Penelope and Phoebe that the young people are right. Majah, the Mystic, tries to swindle Penelope and Phoebe, but the Ghost saves the day. All ends happily as Tommy and Helen and Phineas and Polly plan their honeymoon while Dick and Debbie and Johnson and Ester plan a movie date.
