Larry, who thought he was going to be guardian of a small boy, was shocked to find he had taken a girl to raise, seventee and pretty. Charlotte fKaren Laulainenl is called Charlie, hence the error. Why the jolt? Well, Larry is engaged to the imperious Vivian Smythe-Kersey lLinda Mueller! and is further hen- ridden by a snobbish aunt. Tb have another female in the house de- lights him not. Charlie arrives from Arkansas accompanied by Uncle Aleck Twiggs KDale Fiedlerl, like herself a true product of the Ozarks. Farcical situations develop from the social blunders of the new arrivals, especially when Aunt Fanny Farnham CNa.ncy Kiserl , determined to make Uncle Aleck earn his board and keep, tries to turn him into a society butler. This, plus other situations, conspiracies, and many belly laughs, delighted both the afternoon and evening audiences.
