Alkj, fliihfgf l1lf9 The year is 1977--and much, much, has happened in the past twenty years. The lazy little communities of Curtis and Klaber have expanded almost overnight into a bustling city of over 50,000 inhabitants. Five years ago the towns united and renamed the city, Curber. Much of their growth came as a result of the fame of the 1957 graduating class of Boistfort. Some of the energetic citizenry tore down the old building, leased some more land, and built a fabulous new school, which now sprawls, solemn and dignified, over seventeen acres. Boistfort now has an enrolJ.rnent of nearly 7,000 students and is rated the best educational institution in the Pacific Northwest. Well, what has happened to the 1957 graduates? Well, first let's look towards the nation's capitol, washington, D. C. Center your at - tention on the Mint. who is that lone, feminine figure huddled over a monstrous gold and mahogany desk alternately dictating to her automati: secretary and answering one of her sixteen teeveephones? Why, it's Mrs. Linda Vanderbogg, who used to be Linda Mueller in the good old days. She is now Secretary of the Treasury. Seeing that she is so busy, we shall not disturb her. As we wander over to the shade of the cherry trees, whom dowe see snooping like mad through the air in a miniature ,jet plane, but the well-known Mr. J. Michael Keller! 'Test-piloting another Wilson Jet? we 3hOuto 'Yup 8 he shouts back. Wanna take a ride? That is an agreeable suggestion, so we hop on and swoop off. Mr. Keller obligingly chatted all the way to Hawaii, where the Wilson Jet- mobile Factory is located. Upon arriving, we see Mr. Wilson, in Pana- ma hat and Bermuda shorts, remonstrating with a factory worker about a mistake in the Ladies' Model Jetmobile. He sees us and waves. How did that new plane test out, Mike? He calls to our friend. Like clockwork, man, like clockworkl' exclaims J. Michael with pride. Say, Gary, says J . Michael, suddenly serious, Remember when we graduated in 1957 at old B. H. S., the class decided to have a re- union in twenty years? Well, it's almost time 1 Say, you' re right! We might as well get moving with it now. with that, Mr. Wilson presses a silver button on his sugpenders and barks, Alma, you're starting your two-weeks vacation as o now. Pick up your jet as you come out. Five seconds later, we are joined by Miss Alma Gillespie, who is Head Operator of the Radar-Control Switchboard which controls the nation's highwaves. Because of her constant alertness and devotion to her work the past fifteen years, accidents in the air are now practical- ly nil. 'All aboard I. yells J . Michael, and offwe go. A half-hour later, we sight the Mississippi River. 'Yoo-hoo, Admiral Gillaspie, we're landing I. Alma yells. There- upon we plunk on deck of the MARTIAN MAID, a plastic - steamboat which is navigated on the Mississippi and Amazon Rivers by Admiral Lois Gillas- pie in her spare time. She is Admiral of the Universal Nations' Women's Navy during work hours. Ahoy L smiles the Admiral. Getting ready for our reunion? Yup I replies J. Michael. You free to leave? Yes. Everything's in order. I've already dropped anchor I With that, she hops on her jetmobile and heads west, with the rest of us right behind. Soon, the city of Laulainen appears in the distance 3 amd in the midst of the city, rises the majestic spires of the United States

CONTINUED pl'0l9AeCy National University. The city, larger than New York, was named after the famous Professor Karen Laulainen who is still Professor of Inter- planetary Languages and Science at the University. We quickly land in the midst of the beautiful world-famous campus. Out on the lawn, taking a breather, whom do we see, but Nancy Kiser, Professor of Music, Director of Art, Instructor of Universal Stenography and Radio-Typing at the University. She also manufactures high-fidelity, supersonic organs. Well, hello! I 've been waiting for you I she calls. It's almos t time for our reunion V' Amidst all the hand-shalclng and welcomes, she explains, 'The Prof and I have been talking over our old high- school days. She reminded me of our plan. Secretary Vanderbogg just called and said she's taking leave and will meet us at Curber. Swell I we all echo. 'Get the Prof I We're ready to take off I yodels J. Michael. Here she comes 1 Alma informs us, as Dr. Laulainen exits by way of the ivy-covered door. I saw you out here, and I lmew why you came, so I've dismissed my classes for two weeks, and I'rn ready to leave. The janitor is bring- ing our jetmobiles, Namy, she concluded. Five minutes later our little squadron of seven are flying through the air with the greatest of ease, led by our most illustrious, capa- ble leader, J. Michael. The time flies fast, as J. Michael points out scenic points of interest, and describes them in glowing terms. Two hours 18'b81',E spot the towering Biltsumore Hotel of Curber, wherewe are to be lavish- ly entertained by the Chamber of Commerce, much to our surprise. We land near the airport, amidst much fanfare. How did you lmow we were coming? exclaimed Mr. Wilson. Secretary Vanderbogg teeveephoned and told us, and she also re- served seven suites for you in the Biltsumore Hotel, explained the M8.y0I'o 'Three cheers for old Linnie 1 our crowd shouts unceremoniously. Come, says the Mayor, The whole city has turned out to welcome their favorite graduates. And with that, he escorts us to our suites, while the crowds go wild with welcoming cheers. , Now, late in the evening, let's look in on seven happy, but tired people. Who is snoozing peacefully in an overstuffed chair in the lob- by, wearing earphones carrying reports on the stock market which soothe his nerves? Mr. Gary Wilson, of course. Who is trying to decipher some strange hieroglyphics engraved on a wall in the Oriental Room? Professor Karen Laulainen, naturally. Who is contentedly tapping all the glassware with a spoon to test their tone while writing a new symphony in Venusian shorthand? Pro- fessor Nancy Kiser, naturally. who is on the teeveephone to the Capitol tallclng over the national budget with the President? Secretary Linda Vanderbogg, of course. Who is playing with a toy sailboat in the bathtub in her suite? Admiral Lois Gillaspie, certainly. who is having the time of her life playing with the Hote1's tee- veephone Switchboard? Miss Alma Gillespie, as you'd expect. And who is entertaining guests in the Game Room, doing an im- pression of that famous teen-age thrill of the by-gone Rock-and-Roll Era, Elvis Presley? Nobody but that jolly fellow, J. Michael Keller. Isn't it a strange world?
