' Zfamen Zudenta embership oi the AWS is composed of all women students on the BIC campus. In the fall, the AWS held the Big Sister Tea for the freshman girls. The biggest money making project of the year was the selling of mums at Homecoming time, and each month a candy sale was sponsored. Also the annual fifty dollar scholarship was given to a girl planning to live in the dorm. In February the AWS sponsored the Sweethearts' Ball. Crowned King of Hearts was Fred Norman, with Todd Sagraves and Daryl Hill as lacks. Leading the women in their organization this year were Kay lunge, president: Sandra Turnipseed, vice-president: Sidney Hultgren, treasurer: Elaine Lutes, secretary: Betty Strickland, social chairman: Freida Wilson and Nancy Rensmeyer, sophomore representatives: Shannon Newman and Alice Erquiaga, freshman representatives: and Marlene Bergam, dorm representative. The advisor was Mrs. Turnipseed.

Third Row: Shirley Kletke lan l-lass, Mary Grabner, Paul Walters. he French Club, under the direction of their advisor, Dr. de Neuiville, is composed ot French language students and anyone else who is inter- ested in the language. The club strives to help students learn more about the French people and their customs. Opportunities are provided for the actual use of the French language. Some of their activities this year were meetings where the members played word games and watched slides of Dr. de Neufville's trip to Europe. Weekly noon meetings were held in the Student Union. Interest was added to the club by the presence of Lionel Fialdes from Paris, France. He is the first French exchange student to study at BIC.
