The Spanish Club, El Circulo Castellano, made them- selves known early in the year with their colorful initiation. initiates were seen everywhere in the halls, bearing the humiliation of declaring themselves a donkey. The Christmas party was based on Spanish traditions such as the breaking of the piniates and folk dances. The Spanish Club banquet was held April 16. The entire setting was of the old Spanish theme, with music provided by the Cesspool Six Divided by Two, Plus One. At each meeting a wellplanned program was provided by: Helen Elguezabal, presidentg Lorretta Fox, vice-presi dentp Donna Medlin, corresponding secretaryy Ann Reading, recording secretary. Miss Ruth Miller and Miss Ruth Peterson, the Spanish teachers, were club advisors. ammmwkzf 6761! Students who plan to become office workers after graduation benefit greatly by membership in the Corn- mercial Club. Any student enrolled in the advanced sec- retarial course is eligible for membership. Several speeches from the business world were fea- tured on the year's program, answering questions for the members. This enabled them to have a better under- standing of the problems which they will meet in their future careers. But it wasn't all work and no play for the group. A picnic hayride climaxed the clubs activities. Officers for the Commercial Club were: Helen Hendry, presidentp Marlene Baxter, vice-presidenty Rita Patterson, secretary-treasurer. Advisor for the club was Miss Marian Flemmer. Zwm IM To become a member of the Forum Club each member must prepare a speech and present it to the veteran members. This is the first of many bonds that make this group compact and aid it in achieving its purpose: to ac- quire enough sincere opinions that a solution may be reached or a lesson learned. Holding their weekly meetings in the members' homes is another practice that distinguishes this organization. Their annual banquet, followed by after-dinner speeches was the foremos' of their projects, but more contributive were the discussions on world affairs, personal experi- ences and worldly advice from 'ne club advisor, Mr, Arthur Hayes.
