Q Erzzafemiw Are typical boys and girls of l9425 Among us are scholars and athletes, workers and dreamers. We had high hopes of tomorrow. Before us lay colleges, careers, homes, possessions. We would visit high- towered cities, And find bright lights, dancing, laughter. We would go into the mountains And find cool woods, camp fires, sweet silence. Our world was filled with delight- ful anticipation. War was declared- Now there is death and destruc- tion, suffering and sorrow, hardship and heartbreak. Gur plans, our dreams, our ambi- tions must be laid aside, We must give our energy, our talents, our lives. TAQM QOMQUKEQ . . . the war will end. We will be men and women. We must reshape the world, Mould it so wisely, so carefully that Our children and children's chil- dren Will never know the bitter mean- ing of the word WAR. We-our generation in America, in England, in Europe, in Asia -must carry the torch. We must tear from our hearts The desire for ease-without work. The desire for pleasuregwithout pain. The demand for glory-without responsibility. We must enshrine the simple vir- tues in every human heart, The love of honesty-which neither money nor power can corrupt. The love of work-for the joy of a task well done. ' The love of tolerancewwhich re- spects all creeds and races. The love of wisdom-for wisdom lights the path of civilization. The -love of Christianity-which teaches that love of others is greater than the love of self.

S fb' mvfrfll ee' T rienh archer n Adviser is s 5 - I9 42 SETI-l FREER-the name conjures up a multitude of memories. Tall, slim frame-head thrust forward unusually much to look at you with twinkling blue eyesegraying hair and smooth, rosy cheeks. Mr. Freer was not just a teacher. He was a part of the Warp and Woof of the Boise High School. First at school in the morning, last to leave in the afternoon. Patient math teacher, understanding adviser, master of detention, guardian of the hall, beloved doorman of school parties. His talk was filled with homely Wisdom, old-fashioned examples, common-sense advice. And he practiced what he preached. Mr. Freer is gonee-but his influ- ence is alive. We students reflect his teachings. Hundreds of men and Women, his pupils of the past nineteen years, were influenced by his personality. Our Boise sol- diers around the world-I-Xustralia, the Philippines, Europe, lceland, Alaska-bear the touch of his character. To Seth Freer-gentle, loyal, and friendly-We dedicate this Courier.
