The Seniors: Congratulations! You have come to that place for which you have strived for twelve years. However, my congratulations are in the sense that you have done only that which countless thousands have done before you. lt now remains for you to work out your own private destiny. To build a career of service, success, and happiness, both in the interest of self and of society, becomes not only your privilege but your duty. A few parting words I would impress upon you. Whatever you do, do well. De- velop higher and better standards of perfor- mance in every task to which your efforts are committed. In espousing a worthy cause, never compromise. Stand for principle, honor, and service. Your school believes in you. Justify that trust by good deeds and successful achievement. G. E. Taylor Supervising Principal The Seniors: During the past twelve years there were perhaps many times that each of you looked ahead to graduation from High School as the end of the trail g but now that you have arrived the situation has a completely different aspect. Truly it marks a commence- ment to a larger and broader life. Congratulations to the Class of 1954 on having achieved this important milestone in your journey through life. You have been an excellent group with which to work. My only hope is that we have provided all of you with the necessary foundations and that you have retained and will be able to apply these un- derstandings, skills, and attitudes to much advantage wherever you may go and whatever you may do. May you have much success in all of your future undertakings. W. D. Heckman Principal 8
