The fifth inning showed very little action and no score change. Later in the sixth, Bruce Plummer hit one far over the rightcenter fence, which made it 1-l. The next five innings were of the same nature as the fifth inning with some key plays on Bogalusa's part. Nei- ther team was seriously threatened un- til the bottom of the llth, when the Jacks rallied for the win, to make it Bogalusa's win, 2-l. Jacks Whip Cecilla Early in the match the Jacks fell be- hind 3-l, but later exploded in the sixth for three runs to make the score 4-3. The Jacks scored again in the next in- ning to make it 6-3. Not much hap- pened in the coming innings except good defense for Bogalusa to hold on to the 3 point lead. The Jacks went through the next innings to hold on to this victory for the Bogalusa Lumber- jakcs. The score read Bogalusa 6 to Ce- cilla 3. Jacks Fall to Floyers The game showed a lot of action but no score in the first five innings. When Loyola jumped to a 2-0 lead over the Jacks, Bogalusa rallied to a tie later in the sixth inning. After a scoreless sev- enth inning, the Floyers broke loose to make it 4-2. Later, the .lacks received another win, but not enough for a victo- ry. l. The Jacks win the District Championship for the first time since '69! 2. Coach Byrd and the Jacks go home victorious. 4. Striving for first base is team captain Mike Ward. 3, Anticipating an opponent's steal is catcher Bruce Plummer. 5. After the hit, Tonnie Gill scampers to first base. 84 Baseball
