Jacks Rip Skippers The Lumberjacks took an early lead in the first inning, 1-0, but the next three innings were very quiet. In the fifth in- ning the Jacks erupted to a 7-0 lead. In the seventh inning the score moved to a larger spread, 9-3. The Jacks added two more runs and iced off this rematch with the Skippers. Jacks Smack Pack They don't come much sweeter-the Jacks whipped the St. Paul's Wolves 3-1 , The Jacks had suffered a crucial loss in the first inning when Al Ratliff was spiked on a steal to second base. The Jacks tied it in the fourth inning when Bruce Plummer walked, stole second, moved to third on a groundout by Lun- die, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Der- rick Timmons. In the bottom of the sixth with the score tied 1-1, Butter Lundie hammered in a two-run homer that won the contest. Jacks Clinch Playoff Berth The Jacks tied for the District 8-AAA title by whipping the Franklinton De- mons 9-1. The game was a continuation ofa game that had been stopped because of rain in the third inning with the Jacks leading 5-1. Play began in the bottom of the third inning. The Jacks picked up right where they left off, riding the pitching of Al Ratliff and the hitting of Bruce Plummer to win. The Jacks upped their lead to 6-1 in the fourth inning when Mike Ward doubled to right and scored on a throwing error by Franklin- ton. It grew to 7-1 in the fifth inning when Plummer hit a shot to right for a single, stole second and moved to third on a single by Lundie. The .lacks wrapped up the scoring in the sixth in- ning when Ward walked, stole second and scored on an error. 82 Baseball

The Jacks took control first with a score of l- 0. The Jacks regained the lead by bat- ting in two more runs, and it remained 3- 2 for the final of this championship game. l.
