The Bogalusa High School Tracksters were impressive all year long, The Jacks came in second behind St. Paul's in the district meet. Rogie Magee was named the Outstanding Trackman at the meet. Magee had a first in the 200 meter dash, a second in the 100 meter, and anchored two winning relay teams. Toby McSwain was also in the spotlight as he broke the Bogalusa High School pole vault record with a 13 foot 7 inch vault, good for first place at the meet. The .lacks bounced back after losing the district meet by capturing the Re- gion lV track title. Richard Payne won the 100 meters, Toby McSwain the pole vault, Mike Brister, and Jimmy Wil- liams gave the Jacks a one two finish with Brister getting first. Sean Smith captured the shotput with a throw of 41 '7M1 . The 400 and 800 meters team of Richard Payne, Rogie Magee, Keathon Brown, and Stanley Pigott first. The Jacks went on to place third in state.
