Torch entered the Muscu- lar Dystrophy race and beat 4-K to win 5100. Torch promoted school spirit by working at Prep Week and making spirit banners and tags for all the foot- ball games. September proved itself wonderful, with all 8 pledges accepting their bids. Next came Homecoming- Torch won 2nd place on their car. The Christmas banquet was held in the home of Amy Branch. The girls went Christmas carolling and had a slumber party afterwards. Torch's alumni tea served as its 50th Anniversary. The pledges' Talent Night was spectacular. The annual Goodwill Tea was the the most unique and special tea ever! The pledges participated in a pledge hunt to gain their last pledge hour and were formally initiated at Jeanette Richard- son's house. Massive balloons sur- rounded the club during the Heart Fund Drive, Their major money-mak- ing project, the spaghetti dinner, was a big success. The senior banquet was a very special occassion where the ju- niors received their future offices. Torch enjoyed the good things of Pensacola, Florida at their Torch camp in June. 1. Torch members. Horizon Cabinet The Horizon Cabinet is composed of the president and two representa- tives from each Horizon Club. At the annual Horizon Ball the Queen was chosen on the basis of her accomplishments throughout the years in Camp Fire.
