Extravaganza Highlights Year The Spartanette Service Club has as its aim the development of finer young ladies through spiritual, civic, social and educational experiences. This year, the Spartanettes sponsored a Halloween party forthe children ofthe community, gave baskets to the needy, sponsored a Christmas party, the annu- al Black History program, and the Spartanette Extravaganza. They also took a trip to New Orleans to view the Ebony Fashion Show. In the Summer of 1982, the Spartanettes had as their annual trip a cruise to the Bahamas. This year, they plan to visit Montgom- ery and Tuskegee, Alabama, Qto see the George W. sb -QCICETLQ' .fi- Ss L... I Viva Espczliolf The members of the Spanish Club en- joyed an active year. There were swim- ming parties and bar-b-ques at the ca- sas of Gary Seal and Rebecca Gill. The group went to Deona Boones for a Hal- loween costume contest. The students took two trips to New Orleans, one trip involved a meal at Anything Goes and the other trip was ice skating and shopping at Lake Forest. A Christmas party at Mrs. Sheridan's featured potluck spanish dishes, exchanging gag gifts, and a hay ride. Spanish classroom treats involved pinatas, treasure hunts, valentines and games in Spanish. They went to eat taco pizza and later dinner at the Western Sizzlin. Some of the club was lucky enough to travel to Mexico or Europe. l. 1983 Spanish Club.
