Student Interests Are Broadenea' By The Arts The curriculum of Bogalusa High is not limited to academic and occupa- tional coursesg it also includes several classes in fine arts. Among these are art, band, and chorus. Both the art and music departments at BHS afford any student the opportunity to develop his talent by enrolling in either art or cho- rus or both. A display of the talents in both music and art can be heard and seen in the yearly music festival and the art show given by the respective departments. During the year the several classes of the art department accomplished a va- riety of interesting projects. Band, besides performing, is also a music class. While working on music for football games and concerts, the band members also learned how to de- termine rhythms of popular and classi- cal music. Ag Is The Countryside Of Lzfe Agriculture is a class to prepare stu- dents for life on a farm. Bogalusa High is one of the many schools in our parish to offer Ag Classes. Agriculture is taught by Billy Passman and Rodney Brown. Classes available are Ag I, II, lll, IV and Ag Lab. Ag classes follow regular classroom procedures. Another part of the classes is the actual raising of livestock. Ag members are also taught gardening and how to use insecticides. They learn welding and meat cutting, also. Stu- dents who take Ag classes usually join Future Farmers of America. This is a club for students interested in farm life activities. FFA is just one of the many experiences offered to the agriculture student. Ag is a great learning exper- ience and gives students a very know- ledgable foundation of life on a farm. l.
