The purpose of the club is to foster an appreciation of German culture. The German Club held manyfield trips and many fun ac- tivities such as having a Christmas party and singing Christmas songs at the nursing homes. They also collected food and gifts for a local needy family. The German Club held a spring field trip and party. They gave a scholarship to a senior planning to study foreign languages at the high school level. The club also competed in Sprachfest, this was one of three regional high school German competitions. French Club The French Club had a productive year, considering members went on an extended llfield trip, to Pari: that it was the first year they had been organized. A France. This helped to reenforce their training in th majority of their membership dues were donated to French language. All of the members gaine help the restoration of the Statue of Liberty. Computer Science Club The Computer Science Club officially became a campus organization this year. Club members had a computer matching fund-raiser. Participants were mat- ched up with ten people who were compatible. Club members also competed at the Westlake Computer Tournament and took third place overall. Th members enjoyed learning more about compute technology from their sponsor, Mrs. Shirley Owen and keeping up with new ideas and concepts in thl field.
