Regional and State qualifiersg Patsy Baxter and Kim Spencer. Golfers Up to Par The 1985 Golf Team was divided into a boys and a girls team. Both teams competed in several tour- naments before district competition. The boys team did not advance beyond district. Both teams were coached by Mike Mazelin. Patsy Baxter and Kim Spencer both ad- ' vanced to the regional .V'- t e tournament and finally to 3 the state tournament in Austin. Patsy Baxter and y yyyt K Kim Spencer participated in the state tournament 1 where Patsy defended her title and placed first W ' and Kim finished in sixth. , These two girls really f T knew how to handle the pressures of major com- petition and they came out on top. San Miguel, Kenneth Semlinger, and Ty Whiting. The fans of the '85 season made a great year for the Greyhounds. After finishing in a three-way tie for first place, the team won a flip of the coin for a bye before clinching the title against Floresville. The team went into the play-offs with high hopes but fell to Medina Valley in the first round. As a part of the rebuilding program at BHS the field had new lights which allowed night games for the first time. The coaches felt the upcoming year would be even better with the nucleus left after graduation and the great fan support. BASEBALL
