The Lady Hounds started out their long season practicing five days a week. All that was heard for weeks was Coach Durst's high hopes to go to State. To ac- complish this goal, the girls developed the saying, llWe will do our best and take it one step at atime. The season started off with a long awaited win over Fredericksburg. Kerrville, Canyon, and Gonzales are other schools that the Lady Hounds played. In addition to this, the girls played in several tournaments and they placed first in the Gonzales tour- nament. District left the team with a record of 10-0. The competition was tough, but they played like a team. This team work is what led the Lady Hounds to state competi- tion.
