HISTORY Turnrng back the hands of t1me twelve years we see jamce jrmmy Esther Kermlt Carolyn Davld Bemadme L1ll1an and R jet seated rn Mrs W1lson's fxrst grade class The large rock bulldmg the stumped toes, and the many splmters from the see saws w1ll neve1 be forgotten Lxnda arrrved rn txme to help us play the role of perfect lrttle angels' by g1vmg our second grade teacher, M1ss Ranzau a surprtse party The th1rd grade came wxth Mrs Saxon as our teacher and added Rosa Lee to our class roll Our mterest 1n forelgn countries grew that year as we always had numerous dlsplays ln the sand table Mrs Adams had the pleasure of teachmg our fourth grade class and Margaret Make belleve queens and marble shootlng added much excltement to our recess t1me In the f1fth grade we were met by Mrss Summy Chr1stme Sue Terry, and johnny Somehow Mnss Summy never realrzed that the toy cars speedrng up and down the alsles carrxed our many love notes This year marked the begmnmg of our many whelps from the stmgmg caterplllars crawlxng from the hands of johnny but we are glad to say that we later forgave htm to such an extent that he became our Semor class presldent The sxxth grade was composed of Mxss Hardln and our same merry group The western shmdxg for the P T A and the Cup won by thns golden throated class proved our u.nl1m1ted talents Our knowledge of govemment affaxrs was expanded when Mrs Mnllard our seventh grade class and Tommy went to Austm to v1s1t the Capltol That year many of us learned not to k1ck a volleyball and how to say Oh plffle The next year Mrs Zoeller taught our elghth grade class and Edd1e Bllly Curtxs and Allen to make beautlful carvmgs Beaut1fu1?? Well they were carvlngs anyway The followmg September our class and j D Kenneth and john reached the level where we could be called F1Sh Golly, what a year' It was here we f1rst found out that we were not such 'blg wheels as we had prevrously thought Our mxld and meek lrttle ways drove two Algebra teachers away but we could never defeat Mr Cunngton Our Sophomore year brought no new faces but plenty of tough homework In some way we managed to fmd t1me to take a tr1p to Landa Park That Saturday w1ll always be remembered We the junlors and Ke1th jerry and Kenneth Wood spent many hours dylng yards and yards and more yards of cheesecloth to create the effect of our prom theme Under the Sea The Greyhound Bark was farthfully publrshed br weekly thanks to Nlrs Allen Amta and Fred came ln t1me to help us reach another step on our ladder of lxfe our Senlor year The whole bulldmg rang wxth galty the day we recelved our rmgs I-lomecommg the Chrlstmas program our Senlor trlp partles and the hustle and bustle of the jr Sr Prom passed quickly It's almost a mlracle how ln the mrdst of all this excltement we found tlrne to publlsh the 1955 Greyhound We were very proud of Lxllnan our valedlctorxan and Amta our salutatornan on the nlght of jtme 3rd when we rece nved our dlplomas We concluded these happy moments wlth progressnve partnes whnch lasted untll mommg Thts completes the h1story of the Senlor Class of 1955 Our close fnendshxp has been rewarded by our many warm and glowm memornes of thc past MAY GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU IN THE YEARS TO COME ., , 1 1 , - , 1 1 - -.
