bENIOR CLASS PROPHELY The members of the class of 1947 have been very much mterested m psychology many of them havmg taken profound courses 1n such awe 1n p1r1ng phases of the subject as psychoanalys1s and psych1atry Nat urally the y got all wrought up about their repress1ons and complexes defense mechan1sms and rat1onal1zat1ons When the world renowned psych1atr1st professor Abdullah Freud son Br1ll1ng came to town and opened a consultmg room for the ment ally unfit and the 1ntellectually unsettled all these earnest students rush ed to see h1m And now comes the exc1t1ng part of my story Last mght I too had occasion to enter professor Abdullah s off1ce Not because of any mental We3kl'16SS merely to collect the rent The Professor wasn t U1 and to k1ll time I read some of h1s very dry magazmes I began to look for some more 1nterest1ng l1terature when I found a note book at the very bottom of the p1le It was f1lled Wlth closely typed notes just as I was about to close It I saw to my amazement the names of some people I had once known I looked agam and d1scovered that those were the Professor s pr1vate and genu1ne op1n1ons of those who had consulted h1m I confess lt Wlth shame I read that notebook I determmed that my fr1ends should not be m1sled I would f1nd out what the Professor reall thought they would become And what I found, I cop1ed so I wouldn't forget Kathryn Irvmg IS a nervous 1nqu1s1t1ve type W1ll be a reporter and, because of her 1ntense 1nterest 1n everybody s busmess and her cast 1ron nerve wh1ch enables her to penetrate where she IS not wanted w1thout em barrassment, she w1ll be an excellmg one In tem years t1me she W111 be a nat1onal celebr1ty known as Polly Pry of the Graph1c News She w1ll be so alert that she w1ll 1nterv1ew a crunmal wh1le he 1S comm1tt1ng the crune and get to morrow s news last week B1lly Kjer lS an 1nterest1ng case An over developed 1mag1nat1on and under developed d1gest1on are producmg a wonderful result the ab1l1ty to concoct the we1rdest tales at pract1ca1ly a mmute s not1ce In fact, th1s ab1l1ty IS so remarkabl that n1s conversat1on con almost ent1rely of w 1rd tales Those who know h1m well never bel1eve h1m and strangers seldom Be1ng an 1ntell gent ,oung man he w1ll turn th1s talent to account There are two courses open to h1m He may become an author, but that af fords 1nsuff1c1ent scope for h1S g1fts as the tendency now 1S toward real1sm No he 13 destmed for greater thmgs He w1ll become a real estate sales man ell1ng Flor1da lots by the gross to the mhab1tants of Labrador and 1g1OOS to the dwellers 1n the Shara He may in h1S 161SUl'9 hours wr1te eloquent speeches for pol1t1cians that be1ng a task 1n Wh1Ch he could employ all h1S imang1nat1ve power without the 1ncons stenc1es bemg ever detected MHPVIH Fry, a stol1d slow movmg chap who w1ll never d1splay e1ther speed or an1mat1on Can be trusted 1II1p1lC1t1Y never to hurry He w1ll f1nd 'ns proper pos1tion 1n l1fe early He w1ll become a plumber s ass1stant the ones who goes back for the monkey wrench and can t fmd It He w1ll continue H1 that restful occupat1on lll'lt11 he d1es of old age Ccontl '1 4 . . , . 1, - 1 . 0 . . . . . - o . , . 1 . . ., . , . . . , 1 . . . - , - 1 . , - . . . .
