Basketball- Ellgibility-Basketball is a systematic indoor rough-house. It is played by two teams of 5 invalids each. Now and then a normal person is allowed to e11ter this game but only whe11 he is possessed of unusual agility or because of the scarcity of invalids. Equipment-Nobody is allowed to play basketball with more than :1 dime's worth of haberdashery o11. Negligee is the pass-word. In shirts, short sleeves and low neck effects are entirely proper. Painful collars, jazz-bow ties, and stiff shirt fronts are distinctly barred. Shoes are also allowed by special permission. The Game-The aim of basketball is go get a round spherical mass of leather encased air into a butter-fly net. The foolish thing about it all is t.hat the bottom of the net is extracted, so that the leather air falls out as soon as it is put in. lf a good butterfly net could be used, and if it. could he hermetically sealed upon the arrival of the hall within, it would he an excuse for all this struggle. But one good feaure of baskeball is that when a performer slips, only nine men and the referee can step on his face, while there are 21 and a referee in football. IEE! How many people know the meaning of Retrospect? How many pupils realize the Value of the Retrospect in years to come? This is the seventh edition of our annual, a11d the first to belong to the Indiana State Press Association. Our efforts and time spent, all go to try to make you realize the value of a real education and try to make you know the lllildllllll through which you can forecall your happy school days.
