It doesn't seem possible does it? The forty-seven members of the Iunior class are very active and talented. They are eager to participate in all clubs and organizations whose membership is offered to them. Among these are Y-Teens, Hi-Y, Varsity B, F. F. A., F. H. A., Cutlass reporters and associate editors, Student Senate, Student Patrol, G. A. A., and various athletic teams. .. ' . 5 K v V - X r - P3 Along with all activities the Iuniors have worked hard to raise money for the Iunior-Senior Prom, and toward their senior trip. This was done by various undertakings such as serving banquets, selling at games, and the Iunior play, Sparkling Sixteen. Many of the boys are mem- bers of the football and basketball squads. Though We are only Sophomores we feel honored to play such an important part in extra curricular activities. Three of the five first string basketball players and also two of the cheer- leaders are from our class. A. A. Varsity B claims many of our boys. We also contribute many of our talents to the Band, Orchestra and Glee Clubs, and one of our classmates is a cheerleader. As far as pep and school spirit are concerned anyone who knows us surely realizes that we are not lacking in this. Eager to display our talents we have become members of the Iunior F. H. A., Iunior High basketball and football teams, Iunior Orchestra, Band and many other clubs and activities. We are all endeavoring to learn to work and have fun together. One way in which we promoted this idea was by our parties which were carefully planned by members of the class. Our Halloween party was one which was enjoyed by all. As new members of Iunior High We lost no time in gaining a place in the few organiza- tions and clubs that are open to us. Nearly all the girls are members of the Iunior F. H. A. and have found it very enjoyable. Many of us are active participators in the Iunior Orchestra and Band. We are enjoying Iunior High very much and now have formed a definite pattem of B. H. This year there are forty-eight girls who represent the mental, physical, and spiritual sides of the triangle which is part of the Y-Teen symbol. The first meeting of the year was a campfire service at the college campus. Other meetingsnwere a spaghetti siipper, a May breakfast, joint meetings with the Hi-Y, and many others. The Y-Teens also sent many boxes of clothing OVGISSG S . Last summer there were five girls who went to summer camp and brought back many good ideas for the club. Money making projects this year were bake sales and collecting tax stamps. The Y-Teens share with the Hi-Y in providing devotions for the Chapel programs and they also gave the Thanksgiving program. 'To create, maintain and extend throughout the school and community, high standards of Christian character is the purpose of the Hi-Y organization. The Hi-Y has endeavored to fulfill this code in the past year by having movies and various outside speakers. They have also helped sponsor our weekly chapel programs and have held a joint Hi-Y and Y-Teen meeting. Besides their regular Hi-Y meetings there were recreation meetings in the QYTT1- The club was represented by Samuel Buhler at Camp Nelson Dodd last summer, the Hi-Y leaders training Camp. In every school there should be something for girls as well as boys to do on the order of physical activity. This is the purpose of the Girls' Athletic Association in our school. We try to develop interests in wide varieties of activities to keep all the girls interested. This'year's program included hayrides, biking, skating, swimming, basketball, softball, volleyball, kick lall, table tennis, and playing in the noon hour intramural games. Club members also enjoy good sportsmanship and fellowship with girls from other schools through exchange meetings. They developa sense ot fair play and learn to cooperate with others. This organization was formed last fall after the regular Vocational Agri- culture course was discontinued. This group is made up of seven members of the former group. The group has a choice of several different projects consisting of livestock and crops. The organization also has varied activities including school parties and have a series of parties with the Future Homemakers of America. The organization plays basketball with groups of other Future Farmers- of America of nearby towns. We are working with the 4-H and since this is a state-Wide organization, there is a possibility oi some members of our group being able to attend the 4-H camp, which is in practice every summer. 'I'his camp is open to all members of 4-H work. In class we discuss various methods of farming and farm management. Our teacher and advisor is Mr. Buhler. Most of the selections were marches such as Stars and Stripes Forever , National Emblem March , Washington Post March , and Men of Ohio. Two ot the numbers for concert were Robin Hood and The Wedding of the Winds . We also worked on some Bach Chorales. Playing for football and basketball games was perhaps our main job although we gave a concert with the orchestra in the spring and a concert at the Band Mothers' Benefit Basketball Game. The programs presented to the public included a Fall Concert, a Spring Concert and a Christmas Concert at which the mixed chorus presented a Cantata Christ ls Born by Clokey, and Twas the Night Before Christmas by Darby. They entered the annual district contest which was hold in the sprzng. An operetta, The Mockingbird , by Doane was given on March 8-9.
