“aK wie Fee = Holiday in Rome In 1980, for the first time in the school’s history, Bluestone elected a prom queen. Thir- |, 4 teen lovely girls were chosen to be on the Prom Court, (seven Seniors and six Juniors.) The Seniors were: Cathy Tingen, Jennifer Brewer, Cheryl Carter, Karen Robinson, Donna Royal, Karen Simmons, and Martha Smith. The Juniors were: Kerry Davis, Susan Fleming, Cheryl Gryder, Karen Jones, Pam Smith, and Wanda Walker. Near the end of the evening, the suspense was ended; Cathy Tingen had been elected Prom Queen 1980. The music was provided by “Southern Nights”, a Top-40 Band from Virginia Beach. Michael Morrison was Master of Ceremonies. Everyone who attended the Junior-Senior prom of 1980 felt it was a great success. 16 Prom

Graduation 1980 The Graduation Festivities began with the Senior assembly program on May 30 at 1:30 p.m. MeLanie Tollerson gave the invocation. Wayne Edgerton gave the welcome and the meditation was given by the Reverend M. Dana Hunt, Centenary, United Methodist Church. The Honor Graduates were: Jennifer Brewer, James Broyles, Cheryl Carter, Donnie Clary, Wayne Edgerton, Karen Kindley, Mary E. Lenhart, Gary McPeters, William Park, 18 Graduation 1980 Rebecca Pritchard, Sharon Seate, Karen Simmons, Melanie Tollerson. The Junior Marshals were: Tony Crute, Paula Glasscock, Cheryl Gryder, Terri Harris, Jeannette Hobbs, Steve Ikenbery, Mike Jones, Perry Matthews, Edna Osborne, Jimmy Young. The Commencement Exer- cise was held on June 6 at 7:00 p.m. The address was given by Mr. Jerome A. Hester, former VoAg teacher, who is employed at Central Fidelity Bank of Lynchburg. The presentation of a Ide ‘Wie id the class of 1980 was given by principal, C. W. Biggs. Mr. Biggs gave the presentation of diplomas and was assisted by B. Pearson and E. Blane, Assis- tant Principals. The Benedic- tion was given by Jennifer Brewer. Senior class sponsors were Mrs. Carolyn Anderson, Miss Brenda Blackwell, Mrs. Rebecca Doherty, Miss Elva Kibler, Mr. Alfred Legrand, Mr. Ronald Price.
