BLUESTONE MARCHING BARONS The Bluestone Marching Barons, under the direction of Mr. Ricky Allgood, consists of forty-eight playing members, six majorettes, six flag-team members, five honor guard, and two drum majors. The flag- team, majorettes, and drum majors, had to attend a Band Front Camp to meet require- ments for the band. The band traveled to Dan- ‘ia Top Left: Band performing at a Rich- mond Parade. Bottom Right: Peggy Keene is in her costume for Homecoming. 12 Band ville to perform in a D.CI. Competition. They performed in eight half-time shows and also a parade in Emporia. In the Boydton Day Parade, they won first place in Band Com- petition. They performed in five Christmas Parades. The band won one first place and two second places. The majorettes won one first place and one second place. The flag team won one first place. The band held two Christmas Concerts. On December 13, members traveled to Dinwiddie and com- peted in a Regional Try-out. They participated in a Band Festival in Richmond. During Spring, they performed con- certs at the Elementary, Mid- dle, and Senior High Schools.

Bluestone Concert Choir The Bluestone Concert Choir, under the direction of Mr. Walter Conner, was a specially selected group of nineteen students. Most of the Choir members were ninth and tenth graders which meant they were a learning choir as well as a performing one. The Choir, along with a few teachers and students, performed a Christmas Cantata which was entitled “An Old Fashioned Christmas.” They also gave concerts at the elementary schools.
