Miss Turner First Year for Select Choir This choir has the potential to accomplish great feats if you ' ll only get to work! These words of wis- dom from Miss Turner began the year for the new select choir, cho- sen this year by students ' auditions. The choir presented their first per- formance at the Dec. S.P.T.A. They also traveled to the Junior High for a Christmas Assembly. Nine mem- bers participated in All Regional Chorus in February and a spring concert is in planning. In this choir, as well as in the other periods of choir, an effort was made to teach students basic musical theory. This included not value, note reading, and sight- singing. Choir 21

Foreign languages . . . SPANISH The Spanish Club took a trip to Raleigh to hear Jose Greco, a lec- turer and famous foreign dancer. Along with Mrs. Anderson, the or- ganizations sponsor and new teach- er, the club went Christmas caroling in Clarksville. Rocking away with the FBLA The Future Business Leaders of America were really rocking in November this past year with their Rock-a-thon for the March of Dimes of Clarksville and Chase City. The members, who rocked for 24 hours at four hour shifts helped to earn $1100. The club sponsored prizes for the best decorated homeroom doors at Christmas time. Mrs. Len- hart encouraged the members to sell Tom Watt Kits, which con- tained a variety of gifts. Helen Tuck, Randy Bailey, and Joyce Wilkerson rocks away!
