The 1961 WEI HI B1 uestone High School Skipwith, Virginia Editor, Barbara Clark Asst. Ed., Ann Tarlton Bus. Mgr., Andy Smith Adviser, Mrs. Juanita Clarke VOLUME 6 The Bluestone High School ring symbolizes Blue- stone High School. The blue stone of the ring is a genuine emblem of the school, for the blue stone traditionally grants clear th i nki ng and symboli- cally represents fidelity, love, purity, beauty and truth. The ring itself signifies high rank and achievement. Therefore, believing that the ring symbolizes the school, The Golden Link of 1961 has attempted to capture and to record the memorable school year through the images r ef 1 e ct e d by the blue stone of the school ring. 4 OUR FACULTY, Emitting Treasures Of Learning With Patience And Firmness OUR CLASSES, Glowing W ith Self- Searching Preparation OUR CLUBS, Sparkling With Effective Projects Of Superior Achievement 7 1 OUR SPORTS, Dazzling With Images Of Team Spirit And School Loyalty 8 OUR FEATURES, Portraying Special Events And Time-Honored Customs 9 10 Mr. Propst Is A Capable Teacher Mr. Donald E. The trip has been hard but pleasant. Because of the excellent faculty, fine class sponsors, successful sports and other outstanding achievements, the seniors feel that this year has been almost perfect. Memorable events- -getting class rings, twirp dance, college entrance examinations, the prom, class day, and graduation- -stand out as unforgettable occasions. These senior- year activities added to those of the other four years at Bluestone form five years which will be forever remembered by the Class of ' 61. 22 SENIORS GARLAND PAIGE ALLEN Paige DAVID STEVEN AVERETTE Si Lou Grey Shows Off Her Ring BLAIR LYELL BLANTON Lyell MARY BRENDA BREWER Brewer DOLLY ANN BOHANNON Bo CHARLES O’KELLY BUGG, III Bugg SENIOR KATHRYN JEAN CALLAHAN Jean JESSIE ALLEN CHANDLER Jessie LINDA MAE CARNES Linda GEORGE LARRY CHANDLER Handler BARBARA EVANS CHAPPELL Barbara CLASS BARBARA JEAN CLARK Barbara WILLIAM CARL COLGATE Cole MARY ANN COLLIE Mary Ann BERNICE GREGORY DRUMWRIGHT Bernice 25 ANDREW CLARENCE ELAM Clarence SENIOR ROBERT PRESTON ELLINGTON Preston MARY LINDA ELLIOTT Linda CLYDE CLIFTON ELLIOTT Clyde Clyde Gets His Ring JAMES HAROLD FALLS Pick DONALD FRED FAHRINGER Donnie LUCILLE FRANCES FRANKLIN Lucille CLASS JANET ORMA FULLER Janet PAUL LUCIUS FULLER Paul A Planning Committee CAROLYN MARIE GARRETT Carolyn THOMAS DENNIS GLAZENER Dennis GAIL SYBIL GLASSCOCK Sybil 27 BERTHA CATHERINE GREENE Catherine SENIOR WILLIAM ELVEDGE GRIFFIN Billy JAMES DAN HALL, JR.
