eta Pi Chapter ELTA ICMA THETA SORORITY , il. f .104 Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was founded in 1915 at Howard University 22 young Women who envisioned an organization of college women dged to serious endeavor and community service. In 1930, Delta Sigma eta was incorporated as a National Organization. Today they hold the 'gest black women's sorority membership with over 65,000 members. As the past, Deltas strive to demonstrate a vital concern for social welfare, demic excellence, and cultural enrichment and de-emphasized the social e of sorority life. To mention but a few sorors who have achieved fame d excellence in their fields: Ruby Dee, Nikki Giovanni, Nancy Wilson, oberta Flack, Lena Horne, Leontyne Price, Leslie Uggams . . . Omega Psi Phi Fraternity was founded on November 17, 1911 at How- ard University, Washington, D.C. The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity was founded by three men: Edgar A, Love, Oscar -I. Cooper, and Frank just. This was the first Greek Letter Organization to be established in a Negro Institution, Howard University. The fraternity was founded upon four cardinal principles: Manhood, scholarship, perseverance and uplift.
