E1 T During the period of October 13 through October 31 the art classes of Bluefield State College attended classes and lectures given by Carl Sands, a Potter in Residence at Bluefield State College. He was supported by the Bluefield Fine Arts Commission and the West Virginia Arts and Humanities Commission. The program was known as a Potter-in-residence program. Students from art classes were allowed to create their own pottery with the pieces being fired in outdoor furnaces. Another activity offered to art classes was the exhibition and sale of original graphic art from the Ferdinand Roten Galleries, Baltimore.
