The best musi- I ,fd cians from the band are chosen to participate in the Stage Band--that lively band we love to hear at pep assemblies and basketball games. For this group, the big event of the year is the Stage Band Festival held in Charleston in the spring. There, the Stage Band is rated by a. professional, and outstanding members are chosen for a clinic band, which works to study the purposes of a stage band as compared withamarching band. But these talented musicians par- ticipate in many other activities. They ex- pressed in music the real spirit of the holiday season at our Christmas assembly. Then too, our band was rated by judges at the County Band Festival this spring, and some members were chosen to go to All-State Band. In Janu- ary, some band members represented Blue- field High School at All County Band.
