Election of student government day officials evoked a World of solicitation, campaigning, and suspense. The petitioning began slowly and gained momentum through the publicity attained by simply asking for signatures on petitions. Suddenly, almost surreptitiously, near a Water fountain the c o r r i do r , a campaign poster appeared: the champion cotton-pickers proclaimed the una- nimity of his union's support of Milchin. Footsteps appeared on the stairwells--on the walls! Paper toes pointed the Way to better government, and babbling babies born of magazine ads bubbled the merits of hopeful candidates.
