Matthew 5:41 King James Version, Holy Bible To accomplish a given task well is the mark of a devoted and responsible student, one who demonstrates averynoteworthy quality and on whom others may depend. There are those, how- ever, who exemplify even greater values of steadfastness, those outstanding students who are not content with the required duties of school life, but who strive to proportion quality with quantity beyond the accepted limits of achievement, those who, given five talents, produce ten. These students, being unsatisfiedwith mediocrity or commonplace accomplishments in school endeavors rise above average expectations and goals and for their repeated efforts they have been recog- nized as Second Milers. 109
