Achievement G-reat achievements raise a monument which shall endure until the sun grows cold. Georgius Fabricius To achieve is to know the glow of a job well done. To achieve is to humble oneself in order to make others proud. To achieve is to work tirelessly and taste the bitter fruit of disappointment as well as the sweet nectar of success. Achievement is all this and more. Achievement changes our high school from masses of indiscernible students into a living unit of varied interests and talents. Achievement shines only in the light of an uenthusiastic, genyerous attitude. Mere activity must not be mistaken for true achieve- ment, but useful activity must not be shunned because it may go unnoticed or unrewarded. For that reason, Beaver students achieve not only as a group but also as individuals, as honors are bestowed on outstanding students, such as sophomores of the year, Second Milers, and National Honor Society. For, in the end, the highest achievement is the for- mation of a mature, responsible character.
