THE 1949 THIS IS A TRUE STORY During the sunnner Editor Iohn Dalton started making plans for the 1949 RAMBLER. He made a tentative dummy and contacted our printer, Mr. Blair Preston, of Bristol. This fall our work started with our securing advertisements. This was done by not only those pictured but by 'Robert Sult, Herb Longworth, Charles Maine and Raymond VVilbourne. David French compiled the advertising dunnny. In November, Mr. McNecr and Mr. Sprinkle, photographers from Kingsport, came to take our pictures. Lynwood Iudkins carried on as student photographer. He was aided by donations of snaps from other students. Next a chapel program written and directed by Icnny Hager resulted in a successful circulation drive, efficiently handled by Virginia Brown. I. B. Lindarnood secured copy for the organizations and Ken Ioyee Worked as sports editor. Dick Lester, Solicitorg lay Niles, Solicitorg Dick XVingEcld, Business Managerg Nancy Ruddell, Solicitor. RAMBLER STAFF All annual staffs have trouble, but who could ever foretell that our editor would take the mumps at a crucial time. David French and Ienny Hager loyally stepped in to make layouts and to work long and faith- fully. They deserve the title associate editors. Wforking especially hard on the dununy, Herb Longworth willingly helped wherever he was needed. Our staff artists submitted many drawings. Our adviser, Mrs, Mann, has been concerned about the overall picture of this book. She urged us to make the best of that with which we had to work. XVC tried to do that and we hope you approve. loc Burnett and 'Fed Fuller Staff Artists Row l, kneeling: Dick XViugEelcl, Zeal Long.
