v - Cl rr kJ riA rv'A; • TABLE OF CONTENTS Opening . . . Seniors Underclassmen Faculty Activities Sports ........ Advertisements ■■■ Thing Everyone has something he worked hard at, spend time doing, and try to excel at. This can be anything at all. There is a big difference in people's interests, but everyone likes to do his own thing. At this time sports is very popular with just about everyone. There seems to be a sport that everyone is interested in as an athelete, a cheerleader, a coach, or even a spectator. 5 Many classes offer a vent for interests in many areas and help for those who have special interests. People can be found at school any time of day doing their own thing in such areas as art, sewing, industrial arts, printing, science, or even computer programming. The old ways and faces of the school have been changing to new things over the summer. Upon returning to school we found not only new faces but new places. Two additions were built to enlarge the school; new lockers were added, and the entrance wall to the school, which we thought would never change, has been brightly redone. Some things remain the same, the commons, the busses arriving at 2:15 every day, and finally, the mass exodus at 2:30. 1: Has your attitude about school changed after your last four years of High School? Yes, instead of looking at it as just having to come to school and go to class, everyday is a new day and I'm meeting new people and enhancing the skills that I will need once I go to college. Now that I'm a Senior I realize that everything you do in high school is important once you leave to go out to live in the world. Doug Sharpe 2: If you were able to change anything at Blue Valley, what would it be? I would like to change from 55 to 45 minute hours. This year I didn't get to take all the classes I wanted. That extra hour would allow me and many other people to get the most out of our education. I want to take different courses while the learning pace is still easy. Once you get into college, the pace goes so fast; you have no time to experiment with what you learn. Debbie Schopper 3: Many schools think of Blue Valley as being a hick school, what do you think about it? I think many people mistakenly classify the inhabitants of Stanley in the hick category. I feel that Blue Valley has a lot of good aspects; one being, the number of students. There are enough students to have quality programs in many areas yet small enough that you can know most everyone. If students from other schools would visit Blue Valley, I'm sure they would change their minds. David Mozier 4: Have the personalities of your classmates changed after coming here to Blue Valley? Yes, last year everybody looked up to us and now we're older but looking up to older friends. We've made lots of new friends that have changed our personalities, and friends from last year have changed over the summer. We're older now and more responsible. Ann Warner 5: Since this is the last of the seventies, what do you think the 70's major contributions have been to our lives? '•A healthy self awareness affecting both our physical and psychological frame of reference, the belief that we are capable of realizing any goal we set for ourselves, and the desire to make those goals challenging and exciting. Jane DiTirro w FLOAT .55 DE 35 49 :REEZE .55 GE FREEZE .55 sundaes; MALTS SHAKE' HAND PACK PIA Besides having stacks of homework and extracurricular activities, many students have jobs too. They work in just about every place imaginable from fast food restaurants to grocery stores, discount stores, dairies, and clothing stores. Many people consider their job as another way of expressing themselves. SENIORS 1: Gonna take off now. 2: Let's try it one more time.
