The purpose of the project was to use some problem solving skills and to learn about the stress a bridge undergoes. Before the students built their bridges, Brenda Foree, an engineer with a local architectural firm, came and talked to the class about various types of bridges. Finally the class stress-tested the bridges and Joni Cesaretti's bridge proved to be the most soundly built, holding a stress load of 200 pounds. This project was indeed a suc- cessful combination of theory and practice. HOPING HIS BRIDGE will withstand the stress is Mike Winter. YSL!

C'- N 1 1 . ., -Q., 5 Highlights hen his dad started a print- ing service in the family garage, gg- Chris Henning had no idea that two and one-half years later it would grow into a large family owned company called Universal Printing with its own office and printers in downtown Kansas City. Nor did he realize that he would be an impor- tant part in making the business run smoothly. Chris has become so interested in printing that he plans to stay with the business and take it over with hopes of enlarging its range of services. After school and on weekends Chris runs a large Miehle V-50 printing press used for numbering business forms which the company produces in large quantities. Chris takes his responsibility very serious- ly because forgetting one simple procedure in setting up the press can cost the company thousands of l i 4 . P W .
