Office Runner information to and from Hansel Lowe was less of a problem when a runner sped along the distance. Runners delivered daily absentee lists, bulletins, and took materials to classes to be taken home with students. The office runners became an invaluable help to the school. Each hour students volunteered of their time and talents as they gave up study hall time. QIIV 72 el' This past year, thanks to the fire, a new sport was developed at Blue Springs Junior High. It was called, Office Running. The school had been left without an intercom system. The administrative offices had to be split upt into opposite corners of the building. Several classes had to meet at the Hansel Lowe School two blocks away. Communication was at an all time low. Thus, office runners were born. These runners helped to bridge the communication gap that existed. They summoned students from class when necessary.
