QIIV 72 el' This past year, thanks to the fire, a new sport was developed at Blue Springs Junior High. It was called, Office Running. The school had been left without an intercom system. The administrative offices had to be split upt into opposite corners of the building. Several classes had to meet at the Hansel Lowe School two blocks away. Communication was at an all time low. Thus, office runners were born. These runners helped to bridge the communication gap that existed. They summoned students from class when necessary. Sports Football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, track, swimming. No matter what sport is a favorite to compete in or watch, Blue Springs Junior High has a sport for every Wildcat. With added incentive caused by the loss of all our trophies, the Wildcat teams kept moving right along. We had one of the best seasons ever and even added the swimming teams due to the completion of the new pool. As usual, a quick team and active crowd made the sports events some of the favorite activities at BSJH. Office Runner information to and from Hansel Lowe was less of a problem when a runner sped along the distance. Runners delivered daily absentee lists, bulletins, and took materials to classes to be taken home with students. The office runners became an invaluable help to the school. Each hour students volunteered of their time and talents as they gave up study hall time.
