M -...vp A,sLclb, ..-,.,A.,... . . , .4 U- .., Musical WlIdC8.tS To the surprise of some and the expectations of others, members of the 8th and 9th grade mixed choir and the 9th grade symphonic band were chosen as select groups to perform at the Missouri Music Educatiors Association Convention. This annual convention was held on a pleasant January weekend at Tan-Tar-A, a resort in the Ozarks. lt was a great honor for the BSJHer's to be chosen. This was the first time that groups from the Fl-IV Schools were selected to appear. Though there were many musical groups representing many schools at this convention, the Blue Springs group was the only junior high school in attendance. Because the band was scheduled for an early morning performance, they departed for Tan-Tar-A on the previous afternoon. This enabled them to enjoy an evening of resort life. s While the band was bu members of MMEA, the choir was on Ozarks.
