Cats Catch Boogie Fever School dances are anticipated events at BSJH. They are usually sponsored by the PTSA or the Student Council. Tickets given at the front door entitle the bearer to free refreshments which always include a Coke and maybe some donuts or cookies. Wildcats dance, move, and visit with each other. A musical background might be a band such as Kindred or a disc jockey from a local radio station. lt's obvious that everyone enjoys the dances as they are always well attended. It's a time when Wildcats can be seen on the move. l

The home room representatives have had the responsibilities of getting home rooms organized for the magazine drive, urging classmates contribution to the United Way, and seeing to it that canned goods were collected for that annual project. These representatives are elected in the fall from each first hour class. The members-at-large attended regular student council meetings and helped in decision making of the council. Members-at-large head committees, help at dances, and handle other responsibilities. These people are elected by the student body in the spring. Each grade level has five members-at-large.
