Success Comes in Cans Another event which displayed the generosity of the Wildcats was the canned food drive. This effort was to assist families in the local community. The, goods donated were collected by the Coordinating Council of Social Services of Blue Springs which also had the responsibility to distributing them. The drive was sponsored by the Student Council. Two classes were winners at bringing in their canned foods. They each got a doughnut party. They were the first hour classes of Coach Fritchie and Coach Moran. 17: Y .iv T ix ll il' -T l ' f V ll I gl fb 'T fl A ' ff s l- uf' ' l f fi f dmabuf lu.,2.u.1g.+2+, la

Gur United Efforts Help United Way Each year students have an opportunity to contribute to the United Way campaign. lt is always a goal to top last year's total money collected. B.S.J.H.'ers were able to raise S700 in the 1980 effort. This, of course, beat the past record. For each 250: donated, the doner was entitled to guess how many pieces of gum were in the big bubble gum jar located in the library. The students who guessed closest to the actual number of pieces of gum were Doug Bliss, Tim Lemport, Myke Jones, Julie Purtyman, and Chris Lucas. The classes which contributed the most amount of money were those of Mr. Settles and Mrs. Cesaretti. These two classes were treated to a taco party at Patricio's during 3rd and 4th hour. 14 ,fa f ' A ' ff 'TLJN' T T ri fl fb KA 'T K- 1 X fl , , 9 -.K fv V ' ' l . , 1 - V . 'li RPQKS Spirit Week at BSJH was bigger and better than ever this year. Sponsored by the Student Council, Spirit Week began with Depression Day. Spirited Wildcats dragged out any old costume they could find from the 1930's. A favorite for everyone was Emergency Day, when students and staff alike faked an ouchie. The rest of the week, enthusiasm was demonstrated with Yesterdays, any fashion period from the last century, Crazy Day, wild socks, hair, and sunglassesg and Wildcat Day, a chance to wear purple and gold, carry Wildcat Banners, and show pride in our school. Spirit Week is enough to keep any Wildcat Moving Right Along. ABOVE - The home room winners were just a sampling of the students who took part in the last day of Spirit Week on Wildcat Day. RIGHT - Yesterdays winners, Kevin Stone, Leanora Brancato, Joelle Purvis, and Doug Gossett show typlcal Wildcat ingenuity. NEXT PAGE TOP LEFT - Brian Wroten, Kris Kelly, Traci Pulliam, and Diane Wilcox were almost broken beyond repair.
