The Bucks did not see a successful season at all but this does not mean that the season should be consid¬ ered a complete waste of effort. Besides being condi¬ tioned into excellent physical shape the boys received an unmeasurable amount of satisfaction and pride from knowing that they willingly took on teams twice their size and put out a determined effort to win. This fact can be clearly illustrated by the Polk Central game during which the Bucks went through two strings of players and were still ready at the sounding of the final gun to take on any force Polk Central could muster. Point wise the team left the field defeated in all our games but pride and honor were the victory the Bucks took with them which no other team could lay claim to. 4 Football Awards ANDREW POPIVCHAK Best Offense DAVID JEKA Most Improved BARNEY BARBERY Most Valuable JAY BENJAMIN Best Defense 43 Basketball •♦if MARTY KNIGHT SKIP TILLER LARY PRICE DOUG MURRAY JAY BENJAMIN TONY HARRIS BARNEY BARBERY GERALD JENKINS DREW POPIVCHAK THIS YEAR THE BUCKS BASKETBALL TEAM COMPILED A RECORD OF SUCCESS. THE UNITY OF THE TEAM AS A GROUP WAS WELL EXEMPLIFIED IN THE LAST TWO GAMES OF THE SEASON WHEN THE BUCKS PROVED TO BE A HARD HITTING OFFEN¬ SIVE TEAM AND ONE THAT COULD SET UP A DEFENSE THAT WAS TOUGH TO GET PAST.
