In Conclusion ... The CLASS OF 1965 has set a new landmark in Blue Ridge history. This is the first class to undertake and fulfill the added responsibility of the senior system. More than any other year in their high school career, this is the most meaningful for them. It symbolizes the shedding of protective parental care and the embarkation upo n the threshold of adulthood. They have faced many decisions, some seem¬ ingly very important, but the most important are yet to come. If good judgment is exercised, the making of these decisions will produce the ulti¬ mate goal. However, they must always remem¬ ber that only the future is undetermined; only the past determines the future. 22
