THIS CLUB, now composed of eleven mem¬ bers, has been in existence for three years and since its beginning it has made outstanding con¬ tributions to the social life and ideals of the school. A few days before the winter vacation the members enjoyed a Christmas party which fea¬ tured the exchange of novel gifts. There is a well-furnished room equipped with a television set where the boys spend much of their leisure time. THE PURPOSE of the library club is to spon¬ sor greater interest among the students in the use of books and libraries, to stimulate reading interests, and to improve the library service of the school. It is a member of the North Carolina High School Library Association and of the Western District. The Blue Ridge Club sends delegates to the State and District meetings each year. The club held several social affairs for its members and sponsored a book week campaign during which a tea party was given for the en¬ tire school. Officers elected by the club for the school year were: Buddy Hamrick, president; Charles Neves, vice-president; Charles Simpson, secretary; and Carey Brazell, treasurer.
